I have noticed that in unwanted cameras, specialized
receptors help to maintain focus automatically. Those sensors of some digital cameras change in contrast, while others make use of a beam involving
infra-red (IR) light, specially in low lumination.
Higher standards cameras from time to time use a mixture of
both methods and will often have Face Priority AF where the photographic camera can ‘See’ your face and concentrate only upon that.
